Sole edition: Marianne Farningham (1834-1909) was the pseudonym of Mary Anne Hearn who described her childhood to older age in her autobiography. Hearn had an impoverished background, but wrote prodigiously lifelong until she could afford her own home and rent a summer home. Never married, Hearn was a religious writer, a proper Victorian writer, who was met with approval and became highly influential. She supported the Salvation Army's temperance movement and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
